Directly from the Yanshan Mountains in the northeast Miyun County, Gubeikou Great Wall is a strategic location that is difficult to access. You also can drive a car to Gubeikou Great Wall – Drive from Beijing Siyuanqiao Bridge, from Beijing Jingshun Lu reach to Kuliushu Roundabout (枯柳树环岛, Hanyu Pinyin: Kuliushu Huandao), head for the direction of Miyun, reach Niulanshan Roundabout, drive along the National Highway 101, pass Beijing Miyun County and Taishitun, and arrive at Gubeikou Town, from Gubeikou Town to Gubeikou Great Wall Section.

Take bus to Miyun County at Beijing Dongzhimen long-distance bus station, get off at Miyun Bus Station, and take a minibus from Miyun County to Gubeikou Great Wall, ( minibuses at Miyun County Bus Station are privately owned, which are less safe than the China state owned buses). The best way is to take state-owned buses, and to get off at Gulou ( Bell Tower ) in Miyun County, and take the state-owned minibus to the north of Miyun County Hospital.

b. Take Beijing bus to Chengde City or Luanping County at Beijing Sihui long-distance bus station, the long-distance bus leaves at about every half an hour between 05:10 and 16:05. Get off at Gubeikou Tunnel and you will see the Gubeikou Great Wall.

How to Back Beijing from Gubeikou Great Wall

When you buy the train ticket, the clerk will tell you that the train will not stop at Gubeikou Great Wall Station, but the train stops actually. You can buy a train ticket to Huairoubei Station, 5.50 Yuan per person. After you get on the train, you can pay the excess fare to Gubeikou Station price CNY4.50 Yuan. The total cost is CNY10.00 Yuan. Gubeikou Station is about 10 minutes walking to the Gubeikou village at the foot of the Gubeikou Great Wall. Walking through the Gubeikou village, you will find the entrance of the Gubeikou great wall.

By bus from Gubeikou to Beijing : Take a taxi from Gubeikou County to the Gubeikou bus station ( from Gubeikou to Miyun County). It takes about 10 minutes and the cost is about CNY15. Then take the Gubeikou shuttle bus from Gubeikou to Miyun for 1.5 hours, with a ticket of CNY3 per person. From Miyun bus station take the shuttle bus No. 980 which runs highway to Beijing Dongzhimen Station. It takes about 1.5 hours and the ticket is CNY15 while CNY6 with a Beijing bus card.
