In general, the weather in Tibet takes some getting used to. The summers are cool, and the pellets are dangerously cold. Solar radiation is very strong in Tibet. Most annual precipitation falls from June to September. In areas of Lhasa and Shigatse, the rains usually come in the evening. The best time to visit Tibet is from April to October. The best time to visit Mt. Everest in May and early October. The tourist season runs from 1 July to 15 October.
