Beijing Mutianyu Great Wall & Lama Temple Day Tour

The Mutianyu Great Wall is considered as the most beautiful section in Beijng. Unlike the other five sections, the mountain in this area full of Chestnut, Walnut, apple as well as many other fruit trees, has a very pretty view all year round. Another unique feature in this section is which has double sides battlements on the both sides of the wall (other five sections only have battlement on the outer side and parapet in the inner side). Our English-speaking tour guide will pick you up at your hotel at 9:00am or at 13:00 up to your convenience.

Drive to the Mutianyu Great Wall (which is said to be the most beautiful part of the Great Wall).On your way, the English-speaking tour guide will give you a vivid introduction of the Great Wall and bring you interesting stories. MuTianYu Great Wall , 79 km northeast of Beijing, is 22 km long, making it the longest stretch of ticketed entry Great Wall - and a good hike if you walk all the way! MuTianYu Great Wall is connected with JuYongGuan Pass in the west and Gubeikou Gateway in the east. MuTianYu Great Wall has 22 watchtowers, about one every kilometer. Built mainly with granite, MuTianYu Great Wall is 7-8 meters high and the top is 4-5 meters wide. Another interesting feature of MuTianYu Great Wall is that both the inner and outer parapets of the wall are crenellated with merlons - a feature quite rare among sections of the Great Wall.

The lunch time would be 12:30. You can spent one hour for lunch time. If you like, you also can visit the local Cloisonné workshop, which is the same yard of our lunch restaurant. However, we will leave the lunch place by the time of 1:30.

We would be drive back to the downtown at 3:30pm and visit the Lama Temple Yonghegong for one hour. Lama Temple is the largest and best-preserved lamasery in Beijing. Built in 1694 it was originally a residence for Prince Yongzheng before he ascended the throne.

Transfer back to your hotel at 13:30 or at 17:30.
